  • Science isn’t just for the classroom. The Genosys’ Carbon Dioxide facial treatment has a chemistry twist of it’s own. As it says in the name, this treatment uses CO2 as a special mechanism for skin brightening, improvement in blood flow, skin texture, & it’s anti-inflammatory.

    How does it work? The CO2 gel is absorbed through tissue fluid, which dilates the vessels to increase blood flow and oxygen release. This process is more formally known as the Bohr Effect. Within the first seven days of this treatment, clients will see the following in just one 15-20 minute procedure: reduced pigmentation and dark circles, repaired fine lines, tightening of the skin, oil balanced in the skin, increased hydration, and radiance. 

    The Genosys EZ CO₂ mask improves the absorption of effective active ingredients and activates the skin in preparation of any treatment. It’s an excellent mask treatment to have done prior to micro needling, derma rolling and the SRS peel.

    Directions of treatment:

    1) Cleanse and dry the face: We start off by cleansing the face, with a bubbling cleanser to remove your makeup. The purpose of cleansing is to clean your face, and to remove any older products blocking the pores. Blocked pores can lead to acne, and traps unwanted debris below the surface of the skin. Cleansing prevents dirt from being absorbed and will sufficiently remove any bacteria or excess oil. Afterwards, we dry any excess moisture on the skin with a clean towel. Once we’ve completed this step, your skin is now ready for the application of the mask.

    2) Apply the CO2 Mask: After the face has been thoroughly cleansed, we apply the entire tube of the Genosys’ CO2 Gel using a spatula. Immediately following this, we apply the CO2 sheet mask on top of the gel. The outer mask sheet is coated to prevent any moisture from evaporating. The pairing of these two products will boost the oxygen levels of the skin’s natural healing process through the Bohr Effect. Once the sheet mask is in place, your skin will absorb it’s ingredients for the next five to 10 minutes. 

    3) Removal of the sheet and gel: After the five to 10 minutes is up, we remove the sheet mask and gel, and cleanse the skin. For an added boost we soothe your face with a hot towel so your relaxation is enhanced. Once your face is clean we apply the appropriate moisturiser or cream according to your skin type to seal in the moisture.
