Microblading
What is Microblading?
Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery is a semi permanent tattoo that creates hair-like strokes. A fine blade tool containing very small needles is used to place fine hair strokes throughout the brow. During Microblading brows are defined using these fine needles to implant pigment into the basal layer (bottom layer) of the epidermis. The pigment is inserted to create individual hair strokes.
Microblading is cosmetic tattooing, using Tina Davies coloured micro pigments being implanted into the upper dermis layer of the skin. It gives the appearance of makeup or a natural correction of missing hair, shape and shade.
Microblading originated in Asia, and became popular on a global level only several years ago.

Who is a good candidate for Microblading?
One common misconception about Microblading is that it’s only for individuals that have severe hair loss. Although these clients can benefit from the service immensely, anyone looking to add depth and colour will find great value in Microblading. It’s also a great choice for those wanting to correct their brow shape after years of follicle damage from various epilation methods.
How long does Microblading last?
The results of microblading vary by client and can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Various factors can determine how well the pigment will retain, such as the amount of pigment implanted, the clients skin-type, immediate aftercare, the clients skin-care regime and medical history.
After the initial visits to give the result you wish to achieve, you should expect to do annual top ups to keep the colour looking fresh. Without further top ups the colour will fade away, but some will remain for many months or years.
How long semi permanent make-up lasts is very personal to individuals as it depends on the colour used, the depth of the pigment in the skin, the persons skin characteristics, lifestyle and more.
Most people find the effect lasts 9-18 months before needing a top up session. If the colour is not topped up it will over many months, or years fade away but can in some instances leave a residue of colour in the skin for years to come.
The colour the pigment fades to during this time cannot be predicted, nor how long it will take to fade completely.
Does Microblading hurt?
As the face is such a sensitive area Microblading is carried out with your comfort in mind. Numbing creams are used making the process quite bearable. Following correct home care procedure it allows minimal damage to the skin, meaning less pain with easier and quicker healing.
What happens after the treatment?
Afterwards the Microbladed area may be a little swollen and red, however this is very individual. The colour will appear darker and more intense. This lasts for several days as the area begins to heal. Aftercare advice and balms will be given to make this initial healing more comfortable. Complete healing can take a minimum of 4 weeks. During this time the pigment will mature into the skin and its true colour will emerge. Top up visits are after 4 weeks if needed.
